The Long Riders is a

Stacy Keach and
Tim Zinnemann and featured an original soundtrack by
Ry Cooder. Cooder won the
Best Music award in 1980 from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards for this soundtrack. The haunting rendition of "I'm A Good Ole Rebel" is one of the great period pieces done in the modern era.
Plot
The Long Riders is a fictionalized account of the
James-Younger gang. The film is a falsified romantic gloss on the James-Younger gang and the demise of their chivalrous outlaw brotherhood.
